Schedule

See when each finished piece goes out, approve it, or move it.

Your Schedule is the calendar for everything that's ready to publish. When a Playbook finishes a run, its article and the social posts that go with it land here, each with a proposed time.

What shows up

  • Articles for your publication
  • X posts and X Articles
  • LinkedIn posts

Each piece shows its channel, its time, and one line on why that time was picked, like "Three hours after your last X post" or "Tuesday morning, when your readers open most." Pieces from the same run show which group they belong to.

How times are picked

Your agent spreads pieces out instead of posting everything at once. It follows these rules:

  • A daily limit per channel. By default that's one article, three X posts, and one LinkedIn post a day.
  • A gap between posts on the same channel. Three hours on X and twelve on LinkedIn by default.
  • Quiet hours. Nothing goes out between 10pm and 8am in your time zone unless you change it.
  • Order. A post that links to your article waits until the article is live.
  • Your readers. Articles lean toward the days and hours your newsletter gets opened most.

Inside those rules, your agent picks the slot that suits the piece: something time-sensitive goes out soon, and an evergreen post can wait for a quieter day.

Approving

Every channel starts on Ask me first. A proposed time stays a proposal until you approve it. Approve one piece from its card, or use Approve all on a day.

If you'd rather not review a channel, switch it to Publish automatically in Publishing rules on the Schedule page. Pieces on that channel then go out at their proposed time without waiting for you. You can set this separately for articles, X, and LinkedIn.

Approving publishes on your publication's accounts, so only an owner or admin can approve, move, or unschedule pieces, or change the publishing rules. Other team members can see the Schedule and its rules, but can't change them.

Moving and unscheduling

Drag a piece to another day, or pick Change time from its menu. A piece you move stays where you put it, and your agent won't plan around it again. An approved piece stays approved at its new time.

Drag a piece to the side panel to take it off the calendar. It waits under Ready to schedule until you give it a time.

When a piece needs you

Some things send a piece back to you instead of publishing it:

  • You edited it after approving it. Approve it again so the version that goes out is one you've seen.
  • The account it publishes as isn't connected anymore, or needs you to sign in again.
  • The piece it follows didn't go out. A post that links to your article won't publish if the article doesn't.

These pieces show under Needs approval with a note on what changed. The Schedule badge in the sidebar counts them.

Publishing rules

Open Publishing rules from the Schedule page to change:

  • Ask me first or Publish automatically for each channel
  • The daily limit and the gap between posts for each channel
  • Quiet hours
  • Email subscribers, whether a scheduled article is also emailed to your subscribers
  • Scheduling notes, in your own words, like "nothing on Fridays"

Your agent follows your notes when it picks times.

Scheduled articles publish to your site only until you turn on Email subscribers. Each article's card says which: "Site only" or "Emails subscribers."
