Any article you publish can also go to your subscribers by email. Paragraph handles deliverability for you: sender reputation, infrastructure, and monitoring are managed on our end.

Send an article by email

Email delivery is a choice you make when you publish. In Review & publish, turn on newsletter delivery and you'll see how many subscribers will receive it.

  • Choose All newsletter subscribers, or a subscriber segment for a narrower audience. If a saved segment is no longer available, Paragraph blocks the send instead of falling back to everyone.
  • Choose Preview to read the email at desktop or mobile width, or Send test to send a copy to your account email. Neither reaches subscribers.
  • Turn off Publish online for an email-only send that doesn't appear on your website. Through the MCP server or API, set publishOnline: false.

If you schedule the article, the email goes out when it goes live.

The recipient count includes only active subscribers. Readers who unsubscribed or opted out of email aren't counted.

Subscriber limits depend on your plan. See Plans and credits.

Grow your subscribers

Your website includes subscribe prompts, so readers can sign up from any article. To bring an existing list, import a CSV from Substack or anywhere else. See Subscribers.

See how sends perform

The Newsletter tab in Analytics shows delivery rate and opens for each send.
