Distribute
X Articles
Publish a long-form Article on X from Paragraph, review it before it goes out, and know which formatting carries over.
An X Article is X's long-form format: a title and a full body on its own page, instead of a chain of 280-character posts. Your agent can draft one from an article or from scratch, and publish it to your connected X account once you approve.
Use an Article for one sustained argument, or anything that needs headings, lists, or code. Use a thread when each point stands on its own.
You need X Premium
Publishing Articles is an X Premium feature on the connected account. Paragraph can't check that ahead of time, so you find out when you publish. If the account isn't eligible, nothing goes out, and your agent offers to post the piece as a thread instead.
Create one
Ask in chat, like "Turn our latest article into an X Article." Or open Content, choose Create new under an article, and pick X Article. You can make more than one from the same article and keep the take you like.
A Changelog Playbook can also draft an X Article on every run, alongside the article and social posts.
Review and publish
The draft opens reading the way it will on X. Edit the title and body in place. It's saved under Socials in Content.
When it's ready, publish it now or schedule it on the Calendar. What you approve is what publishes, word for word.
What formatting carries over
These carry over to X:
- Headings, at two levels (a deeper heading publishes as second-level)
- Bold, italic, and strikethrough
- Code blocks, tables, and blockquotes
- Ordered and unordered lists
- Horizontal rules and links
- Images, both inline and the cover
These are dropped: video and GIFs, embedded posts, raw HTML, and footnotes. Inline code and nested list indentation flatten to plain text, so put code that matters in a code block.
The cover image shows on the timeline card, which is the first thing most readers see. Use Add cover, Change cover, or Remove cover on the draft.
An Article drawn from one of your articles opens with that article's cover and a closing link back to it. If the article isn't live when the X Article publishes, the closing link is left out rather than sending readers to a draft.
Publishing can't be undone
Once an Article is live, Paragraph can't edit it or take it down. X doesn't offer edits for Articles, so to remove one, delete it on X.
